Hazel Mae Monroe passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016 in Tempe, Arizona. Hazel was born February 3, 1917 in Tora, MO to Evertt and Hattie Evans. Hazel was married to James Monroe for 47 years until his passing in 1995, and raised three children.
Hazel was a Sunday School Teacher and worked many years as a Hotel Controller and worked for the Chamber of Commerce in Fort Madison, IA. She was also very active in her church and community, she was a Charter member of Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Sun City, Summerlin, a member of the Presbyterian Woman’s Association, a member of the Craft Club of Sun City, Summerlin, participated in the craft group at Mountain View Church in Summerlin, as well as volunteered internationally as a Soroptomist.
Hazel is survived by a daughter, Debra Bingaman, nieces, Juanita Herring, Billie Mae Uppinghouse, Shirley A. Nixon and Coriene Denton.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Tuesday, April 26th at 9:30am at the Henderson Presbyterian Church, 601 North Major, Henderson NV.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lakeshore Mortuary, Mesa, Arizona.
