Glenn Thomas Tucker of Mesa, Arizona passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2022 of respiratory failure-Secondary COVID, he was 86 years old. He was born in Huntington Park, California in 1935. He graduated from Montebello High School and joined the Navy in 1954 where he was an aviation structural mechanic aboard the USS Oriskany carrier, and traveled to China, Japan, and the Philippines. After his 4 years of service, he had 2 daughters Debora, and Linda. He worked at Autonetics in the aerospace industry in Anaheim, CA., then transferred to Rockwell International in Downey, CA. to work as the Move Director, on the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs. He was so proud of the successful launches, and being part of the first man on the moon.
In 1972 he met Nancy Johnson at Rockwell International and was married in 1973. They moved to Salmon, Idaho in 1978 to own and operate an A & W Family Restaurant along with Nancy’s parents. Glenn retired from the restaurant business in 1990 due to health issues.
After his retirement he became a member of the Search & Rescue for 4 years, and a first responder for 2 years. Glenn built from the frame up a 1972 Chevy Nova that was his pride and joy. He enjoyed NASCAR races, was the president of the Salmon Speedway Racetrack for 1 year, and he was a huge fan of the 49’ers football team. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed.
Aside from being survived by his wife Nancy Tucker, sister Carolyn Fowler and daughters Debora Tucker and Linda Cisneros. Glenn also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
