Evangeline Emma Chacon passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on September 12th, 2019. She was surrounded by her loving family. Angie was born to Jose and Elsie Diaz on January 28th, 1934 in Los Angeles, California and later moved to Arizona in 1996, where she lived the rest of her life.
In her younger years, she worked for the stock exchange, and then went to work for Bohemian Liquor Distributor- where she later retired from after 35 years. Angie loved her family and devoted herself to them. In her and Tony’s younger years, they loved to go dancing and loved to take trips. She loved music- Luis Miguel was her favorite. She had an amazing eye for decorations and she loved to create flower arrangements. She was an amazing cook and took great pride in keeping her home immaculate. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she loved to go all out with her decorations. She also loved to find bargains and loved to shop.
She could strike a conversation with anyone, anywhere. Before you realized it, she even had your phone number. Everyone who knew her, loved her dearly. She was the matriarch of her family, and instilled in her daughter and granddaughter strong values that served them well in their own lives and marriages.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Elsie Diaz, her sister, Rosie Rangel, brother, Eddie Diaz, and her sister, Olivia Epps.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Antonio Chacon, her daughter, Cecilia Carmen Chacon Harris (husband Jonathan Harris), granddaughter who was named after her, Angela Andrea Santiago (husband Austin Santiago), sister, Martha Diaz (partner Mirna Lara).
Forever in our hearts, she will be truly missed.
