Dolores Lorraine Sura

Dolores Lorraine Sura, 88, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on November 16th, 2014. She was born on April 1st, 1926 in Dallas, Oregon to Monte and Lorraine LeFors. She attended Grant High School in Portland, Oregon and the University of Washington in Seattle. Dolores married her high-school sweetheart, Fulton Arthur Olsen on August 3rd, 1946. Fulton later passed away on January 27, 1977. Dolores later married Eugene “Gene” Sura on December 15th, 1991 in Maui, Hawaii. They enjoyed 22 years of life together. Eugene passed away on January 17, 2014.

Dolores loved playing golf. She was a member of the Eugene (OR) Country Club, Shadow Hills (OR), Torreon (AZ), and Las Sendas (AZ) Golf Club (of which she was a founding member). She was P.E.O. member, an active member of her community book club, an outstanding bridge player (every Friday), and was an emphatic philanthropist.

She was an avid traveler, visiting all corners of the globe. Some of her memorable trips were to New Zealand, the Hawaiian Islands, Australia, and Atlantic to Pacific Ocean cruise through the Panama Canal, and the Winter Olympics in France (Albertville) and Norway (Lillehammer).

Dolores is preceded in death by her brother, Jack Neil LeFors. She is survived by her (2) children, daughter Julaine Wildish (Gary) of Eugene, OR; son Robert Olsen of Fair Oaks, CAS; (5) grandchildren, (10) Great-Grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Her late husband, Eugene Sura, brought to Dolores’s family a loving group of members which included (2) sons, (4) grandchildren, & (7) great-grandchildren.

The family plans to hold a Celebration of Life to be determined at a later date. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice in Dolores’s honor.
