Derek W Gleckler, our beloved son and warrior, brother, uncle, grandson and friend left us suddenly on October 5th, 2020. With his family surrounding him, and Jesus waiting for him, he went home to be in God’s arms.
Derek was born to Marilyn and Doug Gleckler on August 24, 1988. There were sisters Megan and Morgan waiting for him. He was their protector.
Derek lived in Mesa, Az and attended Mountain View High School. He was then accepted into the Wm P Carey school of business. Derek decided to stay with his family business and was the head estimator.
Gleckler was active in sports. He loved water and snow skiing. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent his free time on a lake or in a forest. His childhood weekends were spent with family out on a lake laughing and playing. Derek loved to travel and had been to most states here and was able to tour Europe for 3 weeks.
Much of Derek’s last year was spent taking care of his father. His God and family were his priority.
Derek was taken too soon. His big smile, blue eyes and quick wit will be missed and never replaced. He was a warrior, loyal to a fault and loved.
Derek has been a lifetime member of Love of Christ Lutheran Church. He will be buried in the church he grew up in and confirmed in.
Derek’s service will be Monday, October 12, 2020 at 1:00pm Love of Christ Lutheran Church
1525 N Power Rd.
Mesa, Arizona 85205
