Dale A. Bates Crump was born to the Union of Richard and Clara Bates on January 13, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the 4th of 5 Children. Dale accepted Christ into her life at a very early age. Later in her adult life she joined Phoenix Valley Church of Christ where she was an involved active member up into her illness.
Dale attended Englewood High School. There she met and married Irving Crump (preceded her in death). To this union three beautiful children were born, Kenneth, Dennis and Jonna.
In 1968, Dale relocated to Phoenix, Arizona to begin a new life for her children. For 45 years Dale referred to Arizona as her home. She worked for Motorola for 28 years. Working her way up the ranks, Dale retired in 1996 as a Production Supervisor.
Dale was a women of many talents. She had a passion for cooking, crocheting, shopping and traveling. She loved to host parties for her children and grand children. No matter the occasion she was always willing to prepare one of her famous dishes. She took such pride in everything she did. Her family and friends meant the world to her. Dale had the opportunity to journey to many places many people only dream of. To commemorate her travels she collected magnets all over the world. Germany, Austria, Paris, Aruba, Bahamas, Alaska, Hawaii and many cruises.
Dale leaves to cherish her memories: Three children Kenneth (Allyson) of Chicago, Illinois, Dennis Sr. of Chicago, Illinois and Jonna Somers of Goodyear, Arizona; Thirteen Grand Children, Tahesha, Dennis Jr. (Christi), Cori, LaTonya, LaShaunya, LaShaun, (preceded her in death), Kenneth Jr., Tiffany, Darius, Jonathan, Brandon, Jasmine and Lyndsey; Fifteen Great Grand Children; Brothers Richard Bates Jr., (preceded her in death), Marvin Bates (preceded her in death), Bernie Bates of Orlando, Florida and sister Harriette Simpson of Anthem, Arizona. Aunt Lucille Hayes of Kankakee Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends; Her two best friends Mary Warner and Dorseena Hobson (preceded her in death).
Visitation will be Friday, June 7th from 5:30pm to 8:30 pm at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson Rd., Mesa, AZ. Funeral Services begin 10:00 am Saturday, June 8th at Lakeshore Mortuary with the Committal Service following at St. Francis Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th St., Phoenix, AZ.
