Cruz Medina Jr.

Cruz Medina Jr., 86, originally from Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away peacefully in Chandler, Arizona on October 15, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Cruz retired from management at US West after 37 years of dedicated service. Cruz also served honorably in the United States Army from March 1958 to March 1964. He played baseball for the former Arizona State College which is now Arizona State University. He was involved in LULAC and other philanthropic organizations. He enjoyed playing senior softball and billiards with his buddies. Cruz was preceded in life by his father, Cruz Medina Sr., his mother, Frances Tapia Medina, his son, David Leon Medina as well as his second wife, Frances Medina and his siblings Edna Medina Mosquera, Bridget Osborne and David Medina. He is survived by his children; Maria Medina Butler, Anna-Maria Medina Skousen, Anthony Medina and Raquel Medina Martinez, 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Viewing and rosary will be held on October 28, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson Rd. Mesa, AZ 85202. Graveside Service will be held on October 29, 2021, 1:30 pm, at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257.
