Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother.
Charles was born in Waterloo, Iowa, son of Alvie and Helen Kephart Jones on August 26, 1944 and passed away peacefully on August 15, 2014 at the age of 69 after succumbing to a culmination of challenges that were brought on by the diagnosis and removal of a brain tumor almost 20 years ago. Charles was a passionate, driven man who worked hard to provide for his family and strived to improve his community and surroundings. He was well loved by his family and friends and well respected by his peers. Charles and his family spent almost thirty years of their lives in Union City, California. During their time there Charles worked as a Real Estate Developer and was involved in many projects including building custom built homes, condos and working on a hillside development project as well as building and remodeling homes that he lived in with his family. Charles also dabbled a bit in politics with a run for Mayor of Union City. Upon moving from Union City, Charles and his wife of fifty years, Toby, moved back to their hometown of Waterloo, Iowa where they spent ten years. In 2010 they moved to Mesa, Arizona where they spent the last four years of his life.
Charles is preceded in death by his Mother and Father and his brothers, Harley, Kenny and Mike Jones. Charles is survived by his wife Toby, his two children John Jones and Carrie Beardsley, their significant others, Mary Kessler and Todd Beardsley, his Grandkids, Chase, Gavin and Kylie Beardsley, Mary’s son Daniel Sutherland and Charles’ sisters, Grayce Holmes and Patricia Jones and his brother Richard Kephart as well his nieces, nephews, cousins and other family loved ones. All of whom have provided enduring support, love and enjoyment to his life.
Charles can be remembered and celebrated at the Chapel of the Chimes Cemetery in Hayward, California as well as the Mariposa Gardens Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona.
