Chuck was born in Columbus, Ohio, on January 27, 1943. He lived there until 1959 when he moved to Tucson, Arizona. He graduated from Rincon High School in 1961and joined the US Air Force where he served in Klamath Falls, Oregon and St. Louis, Missouri. It was in Klamath Falls where he met his wife, Claudia Malcomb. They were married in 1964.
After Chuck was discharged from the Air Force, they resided in Arizona and Nevada, eventually ending up in Mesa. Chuck worked as a manager for Dial Finance Company, a manager for Big O Tires, and was a partner/owner of The Rental Store. He retired in 1996.
His favorite pastimes included camping, boating, golfing, and spending time with his family. Traveling with close friends was a favorite for Chuck. His summers were spent in Pinetop, AZ, golfing and enjoying the company of good friends. He loved to dance and was known for his great jokes.
Chuck is survived by his four children; Jeanne Barnes, Kevin Barnes and his wife Lynn Rae, Karen Duke and her husband, Bill, and Steven Barnes. He also will be missed by his beloved granddaughters; Sydney Barnes, Katie Duke, Savannah Barnes, and Maya Barnes.
He was predeceased by his father, Charles Wayne Barnes, Sr., and his mother, Clara Marie Barnes.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held for Chuck on Sunday, August 15.
