Cecilia DeVere Brown

Cecilia (Cecy) DeVere Brown, 85, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away April 28, 2021. She was born, September 25, 1935 in Louisville, Kentucky to William Clifton and Virginia Vivian [Schrader] Nichols. Cecy spent her career working with AT&T, starting in Louisville then transferring to Florida, she retired after 25 years. In 1954, she was married to CB Brown and raised their six children, Viv, Susi, Jan, Jim, Teri and Beth. Cecy and CB were married for 21 years until their divorce. He was always the love of her life. Cecy loved the outdoors, watching the birds, and seeing the flowers, but what was most important to her was being a mom. She is survived by her children, Vivian Jane (Rick) Davis, Susan Kay Kather, Janet Lea (Michael) Kather, James William (Linda) Brown, Teri Jo Farmer and Elizabeth Ann McElveen; her sister, Sondra Belle Archer (Dan) Gay; her grandchildren, Brian Lee Davis, Brad Elliot Davis, Robert James Brown, Andrea Lynn Szweda, Celia Rose Owen, Kathleen Elizabeth Brown, Anthony Michael Kather, Nicholas Kolton Kather, Sean Matthew Farmer and Jordan Michelle Farmer, as well as 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Virginia and her grandson, Steven Michael Kather.
