Betty graduated from Oscoda High School in Michigan and there received her high school diploma. She was raised without luxury and lost her mom at an early age, causing her to immerse herself in books.
Betty was a career homemaker raising four children while her husband served for over 45 years in the USAF and Federal Civil Service. Betty had met her husband, Bobby Joe Kellow, who was in the USAF, at Perrin AFB, Texas, and they were married in 1954 in Durant, Oklahoma. They were together 61 years until Bob’s passing in 2015.
Betty loved to travel, and with her family spent 8 years touring Europe while living in Germany where one of her four children were born.
Betty was an avid bowler competing in leagues for over 40 years. Always the “nanny” as most people knew her, Betty helped raise 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Tana Lynn, Vicky Lee, Debra Kay, and Jeffrey Scott; and grandchildren; Heather, Jason, Jarid, Shaun, Chris, Josh, Kristen, Brad, Jeremy, Austyn, Jon, Joe, and Sydney.
