Antonio “Tony” Lira of Apache Junction, AZ passed away on June 6, 2015 at the age of 68. He was born July 13, 1946 in Wichita Falls, TX to Salud and Nina [Marceleno] Lira. Antonio was an avid sports fan, especially the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Dallas Cowboys; he also enjoyed watching TV, his favorite shows being westerns with John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. Some of his life passions were fishing, hunting, visiting with family, and most of all spending time with his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Rebecca Lira and is survived by his loving wife Virginia Lira; son Tony Lira Jr. and his daughter Victoria (Shane) Powell; grandchildren Michael and Brittany Powell and Tyson, Antonia, Aaron and Blaine Lira. Antonio is also survived by two brothers Mike and Al Lira and one sister Delores Lira. A visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00pm, Wednesday, June 10 and a funeral service on Thursday June 11 at 9:00 am at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd in Mesa.
