Tony was born in Cleveland, OH and moved with his family to Phoenix, AZ in 1958. He grew up in the Valley, attending Most Holy Trinity Catholic School before going on to Regina Cleri Seminary in Tucson. Tony attended Arizona State University on a full academic scholarship earning a B.A. in Political Science and then earned a M.A. at UC Santa Barbara in Economics.
It was shortly after graduating from UC Santa Barbara that Tony married his longtime girlfriend, Barbara Murphy in 1988. They moved to Oxnard, CA then later settled in Camarillo, CA where they began to build a family that eventually included Tony III (Tone) and Rita.
Though Tony was best known for his academic acuity, he also loved sports and pickup games with his brothers. Later in life his true passion became cycling. He spent many weekends riding with close friends and enjoying the California coast.
Tony had a long and illustrious career in the medical consulting industry, where he rose to senior levels of management. Much of his professional life was spent with a subsidiary of McGraw Hill, a company he was deeply dedicated to during his time in the industry. He finished his career as a principal at Truven Health Analytics, which was later purchased by IBM. His expertise, leadership, and passion in the field made him well respected amongst his peers.
A devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend, Tony held his family at the center of his life and cherished the time spent with loved ones. A devout Catholic, Tony was deeply involved in his church and community, often volunteering his time and energy to others. His faith was an integral part of his identity, guiding his daily life and shaping his values.
Tony is survived by his loving mother, Marie Likovich; his devoted wife, Barbara Likovich; children, Tony III and Rita; his five siblings, sisters: Marie Miltenberger and Helen Nadolski, brothers: Tom, John and Joe. He is also survived by his loving sister-in-law Rita Ann Murphy. He was preceded in death by his father Anthony James Likovich, Sr.
A viewing will be held at Mariposa Gardens, 6747 E Broadway Road, Mesa, AZ, Wednesday, December 4th from 3-7pm. A memorial service will take place at the same location on Thursday, December 5th at 10am with a graveside service immediately following.
