She was born to parents Bernard (Cuz) and Elvira Calder, on 04/09/1930 in Chicago, Illinois. Alice’s mother resided with her family beginning in 1970 and remained with them until her passing in 1984.
Although she was raised and educated in Chicago, Alice spent her childhood summers along the idyllic high banks of the Wisconsin River with her parents, siblings and cousins.
Alice married Melvin Levy on August 26, 1950. They raised their six children; Tom, Jim, Mark, Jane, Don and Ann Marie in Chicago but continued to spend their summer months in Spring Green, along the river and on the golf course.
Alice returned to the workforce in 1980. She worked as an employee of the “Chicago Board of Education” for over 10 years.
Shortly after their retirements, Mel and Alice sold their Chicago home and returned full time to the banks of the river they loved and had enjoyed all their lives. Summers in Spring Green and winters in Mesa, Arizona were the staple for many wonderful years. Alice enjoyed her winter residence but her heart will always remain on the sandy high banks of the Wisconsin River in the Township of Spring Green.
Alice is survived by her husband Melvin, her children, grandchildren and great grandkids.
She was beloved by all who knew her.
