Bob was born on September 22, 1944 to Carleton and Barbara Armbruster in Torrington, Connecticut. A graduate of Cocoa High School in 1962, Bob later went on to join the United States Army Reserves and began working at Publix Supermarkets. He graduated from UCF in 1995 with a BS in Business Administration. He worked for Publix for 38 years and retired as a Store Manager in 2005.
In 1968 Bob married Jeraldine “Jerry” Adams and they later went on to have two children, Rob and Janna (Davis).
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Carleton and Barbara and sister, Nancy (Mullican).
He is survived by his wife, Jerry; Son, Rob and wife Wendy; Daughter, Janna and husband Lee; Grandchildren Carly (Patrick), Taylor, Brooke, Benjamin, Robbie, Will, and Elizabeth; Great-grandchild Eden; Brothers Roger and Gary. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
After retiring, Bob volunteered at the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and the House of Hope.
His favorite recreational activity was golfing. He enjoyed the fact that he lived on a golf course.
A graveside service will be held on January 4, 2025 at 2 PM EST at Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett, Alabama. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date at First Baptist Church, Merritt Island, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to House of Hope or Agape Women’s Center, both ministries of First Baptist Church Merritt Island, Florida.
Bob Armbruster, a beacon of kindness and generosity, will forever reside in our hearts. His legacy of faith and giving will continue to inspire and guide us. As we grapple with the loss of his physical presence, we find peace in knowing that he is now in the presence of our Lord Jesus.
