Rita M. Curran- McMillan-Brace (Merritt Island), 80, peacefully slipped the surly bonds of earth on Friday, January 18, 2013.

Born and raised in the Boston area, she remained in New England for most of her adult life. Rita relocated to Merritt Island in 2000 to marry her childhood sweetheart Richard N. Brace after both were widowed and reunited in Boston at an Irish celebration in 1999. The spark was re-ignited and they were married in 2000 at the same church they attended school as children. They thoroughly enjoyed their 11 years together spending winters in Florida as residents of Island Lakes and summers in New England with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard N. Brace Jr. of Merritt Island; sisters, Madeline Heinz of Weymouth, Ma and Ann Murray of Quincy, Ma. She is survived by her children, Deborah, Stephanie, and Richard (Adrienne); grandchildren, Shannon Campbell (Chad) and Robyn Collier, of Merritt Island; her siblings, Margaret Thornton of Quincy, MA; Edward (Elaine) Curran of Cohasset, MA; and Kathleen (Bobby) Gober of Derry NH; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will include a viewing at Wylie Baxley Funeral Home on Merritt Island from 5:30-8:00 on Thursday, January 24, and a Mass service at Divine Mercy Church on Friday 25 January at 11:00am.
