John was born in Washington, DC. He moved to Brevard County from Maryland in 1970.
John retired after 31 years from Merritt Island High School.
He was a graduate of Central High School, Seat Pleasant, Maryland, the University of Maryland and Stetson University, Deland, Florida.
John was an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing and could always be found behind the lens of his camera or in the bleachers at the Cocoa Tiger football games.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda; son John Wilkinson, Jr.; daughter-in-law Maura Barr Wilkinson; grandson Cooper; granddaughter Keegan; sister Joanne Wilson and her husband Larry Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews.
At John’s request, there will be no services held at this time.
