Ann Carol Worth passed away on June 13, 2013 unexpectedly from bacterial pneumonia in Cape Canaveral hospital. She was surrounded by family and friends at the time of her passing. Ann was 72 years old.
Ann was born in NJ on April 27, 1941. She was the only child to Anne Good and David Good.
Ann is survived by her husband, John Worth, daughter, Kerry Worth-Peterson, son, Kevin Worth, grandchildren, Olivia, Keegan, Ahren and John, daughter and law, Vinaya-Garde Worth and son and law, Adam Peterson.
Ann loved to travel, read, shop and spend time with her grandchildren. She was an advocate of dog rescue organizations and had 2 rescue pups, Pork Chop and Colby. Ann often attended dog functions with her husband John.
Ann recently traveled to Minnesota to attend her Cousin Liz’s graduation from college and her granddaughter Olivia’s graduation from preschool. During the trip she had the opportunity to spend time with her children, their spouses and all of her grandchildren together. Ann took her granddaughter to the movies and did craft projects during her stay. She helped her daughter pick out Olivia’s preschool graduation dress and decide on what to plant in the family garden. Ann watched her grandchildren play together and said, “this is how it should be.”
Ann maintained close friendships with the nurses she worked with and recently reconnected with classmates from her 50th high school reunion.
She was no stranger to social media and kept in touch via FaceBook and her trusty IPhone.
Ann would get on a flight at the drop of a hat to help out with her grandchildren. She stayed in Germany while her son and daughter and law were stationed there to help out with their first son, Keegan. She also recently flew out to El Paso, TX to help out with Kevin and Vinaya’s second son, Ahren while he recovered from an illness. Ann’s grandson, Keegan had the following conversation after his return from her memorial with his mom, Vinaya:
Keegs: Mommy, where's Nana?
Vinaya: Nana is in heaven.
Keegs: Are you sad?
Vinaya: Yes, I am very sad.
Keegs: Why, Mommy?
Vinaya: Because I really miss Nana.
Keegs: Don't be sad, Mommy. We'll drive to heaven tomorrow to see Nana. But not tonight... I'm tired.
After Olivia’s preschool graduation the director of the school asked Ann, “are you Nana?” Ann said yes. The director said, “I am so glad you made it. All we heard about was your pending visit.” Ann was an amazing Nana.
A small, private memorial service was held at Ann and John’s home on June 15, 2013.
Memorial contributions can be sent to Central Brevard Humane Society, 1020 Cox Road, Cocoa, FL 32926, 321-636-3343, www.crittersavers.com.
