Mr. Alvarado was a graduate of Brownsville High School, class of 1968. He worked in Merced for 18 years for Scholle Packaging Inc., working in international travel to help start new businesses and training new employees.
Mr. Alvarado was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Luisa Silva Alvarado and Feliciano Alvarado; and aunt, Bertha Alvarado.
He leaves behind his wife, Leticia Alvarado; daughter, Marysol Alvarado Ward; son, Raul (Colby) Alvarado Jr.; grandchildren, Jacinda (12), Jasmine (9), Eliana (6) and Michael (4); four sisters; one brother; two aunts; one uncle; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B St., Merced, CA 95341 on Monday, February 24, 2014 with Rosary at 11:30am and Chapel Blessing at 12:00pm.
