He was born June 29, 1922, in El Paso, Texas. He served in the United States Army during World War II (1942 - 1945) in the 648th Tank Battalion. He was stationed overseas in Europe. He was honorably discharged after the war and upon his return home, he married Mary "Lois" Villarrial. They raised two daughters in Merced, California.
Pete and Lois devoted their Christian lives as Jehovah's Witnesses by spreading the Word of God to all who would listen. They helped organize a Spanish-speaking congregation in 1969. He cherished his Bible and read it daily.
He worked for Nulaid and then in his later years, Pete owned and operated a cleaning and janitorial service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, and their son, Pete Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Anita (Lee) Spitzer and Martha Whitaker, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. His final resting place will be at Merced District Cemetery following the service.
