Devoted daughter of Margarita and Pete Torres. Beloved wife of Richard for 25 wonderful years. Loving mother of Adam and Andrea. Dedicated sister to Pete Torres Jr., Bertha Torres Richardson, Dora Ruiz and Godofredo Torres. Cherished Daughter-in-law to Daniel and Lupe Rios. A proud graduate of Clovis High School and Fresno State University. A resident of Merced, CA for the last 11 years. Her happiest times were when surrounded by family and friends. Maria's life journey was extraordinary; after graduating college, she embarked on a long and successful public health career that included her working as an energetic health educator. While fighting a long and difficult battle against breast cancer, Maria never lost her love of life or positive attitude. She was truly an inspiration and role model to all. We are the lucky ones for having her in our lives. Maria will be deeply missed and she will remain in our hearts forever. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Fresno area on Sat. Feb. 11th from 12:00-1:30PM at the Family Life Center/New Harvest Church, located at 698 N. Minnewawa in Clovis, CA.
