Jane McCullough Brown

Jane McCullough Brown, a native of Dyersburg, TN and a 14-year resident of Merced, has passed away at age 95.

In Memphis, TN, where she lived for 59 years before moving to Merced to be near her son and his family, she was an elder at Colonial Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a member of Steadfast Circle King's Daughters & Sons, past president of Rozelle Parent Teacher Association and founding member of Las Comediantas Social Club.

Jane is survived by her son, Robert Hadley Brown, and his wife Jo Ann, of Catheys Valley, CA; granddaughter, Elizabeth Brown Rinella and husband Rick, of Naples, FL; and grandson, Robert Hadley Brown Jr and wife Lisa, of San Diego, CA. Great-grandchildren are Dylan and Shauna Rinella and Benjamin and Hadley Brown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Hadley Brown of Memphis; and from Dyersburg, TN, her parents, Lon Hope McCullough and Ida Mae Speight McCullough; brother Harris Dawson McCullough; maternal grandparents, John Harris Speight and Velerah Frances Speight; and fraternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. J. D. McCullough of North Carolina.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Hampshire Retirement Residence chapel, 3460 R St., Merced, CA.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.
