William (Bill) Richards at the age of 83 passed away in Rancho Cucamonga, CA on October 11 2024. Bill was born in Oil City, PA on February 17, 1941.
Bill lived in PA until he went in to the U.S. Navy in 1958. After being discharged in in 1962 he returned to PA then moved to CA in 1963
Bill attended Whittier High School and then attended West Coast Trade School for Computer Operator. He also graduated from Cerritos College with an Associate’s Degree, after college Bill attended Private investigator school.
Bill was a Deputy Sheriff in The Los Angeles County Sheriffs Dept. where he retired from after 29 years, during his time with the Los Angeles County Sheriffs he worked for patrol for most of the years in the Norwalk, Firestone and Lakewood stations. He was assigned the Special Enforcement Bureau at S.E.B.. He was a member for the Special Weapons Team and did V.I.P. Security plus saturation patrol. In 1987 Bill was promoted to Sergeant.
Bill left behind a sister Patricia Carter, three children Bill (Susan) , Tim ( Tina) and Karen ( Robert); 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren he will be greatly missed by all. Family will be holding a service privately
