Mr. William Hal Goldman, 85, passed away February 26, 2022 at his residence in Bartlett, TN. He was born in Memphis, TN. He attended Southside in Memphis and worked for Illinois Central Railroad all his adult life. Mr. Goldman enjoyed the outdoors especially cutting his lawn. Early in his life he enjoyed his boats. He began his passion for boating first with a small ski boat with family where he spent weekends at Sardis Lake. He and his brother Charles and friends formed the Northwest Mississippi Power Boat Association whereas Hal received many trophies in his category racing. He loved building his motors and enjoying this until time defined he could no longer continue. Hal and his older brother moved to riding motorcycles until their age permitted their limitations. Mr. Goldman was a lifelong member of Central Church and a devout Christian his entire life. Survivors include his first wife, Mrs. Betty Jean Shelton, mother of his 2 children, daughter, Teresa Gross of Olive Branch, MS, son, William Hal Goldman, Jr., known as Billbo (Jill), a granddaughter he dearly loved, Shannon Gross Hamilton (Keith) of Nesbit, MS., his 1st cousin he grew up with Mr. W.C. Carter “Dubby” (Barbara) and family of Iuka, MS., his sister-in-law Betty Lou Goldman of Hernando, MS and family. Others included Mr. Goldman’s loving neighbors, Pat and Jordan whom lived across the street for over 30 years. Countless other friends most deceased, but children that remain from his boat racing era, too many to mention. Any donations could be made in his name to the Kidney Foundation or Bladder Cancer Research. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 2pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN 38133.
