William Elton Daniels, Jr., lovingly known as Sonny, passed away on November 24, 2023, at the age of 80, in Bartlett, Tennessee. Sonny was born on March 14, 1943, in Sheffield, Alabama, to the late William E. Daniels, Sr. and Mary Ruth Daniels. Sonny had a great love for his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Daniels, and his daughters Angie Green (David) and Jill Gatlin (Rich). He is also survived by his stepdaughter Tammy Mittan, stepson Scott Branson, and his grandchildren Caroline McGinnis, Zachary Mittan, Will Allison, Grace Gatlin, Thomas Gatlin and Gabrielle Branson. Sonny was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Rowan Melton and Eden Allison. Sonny graduated from Sheffield High School in 1961. He was a talented high school athlete, excelling in football, basketball, and baseball. Sonny served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1963. Following his military service, he pursued a career as an electrician for the Tennessee Valley Authority and later worked in electrical sales for General Electric. However, Sonny found his true calling as a self-employed home contractor, serving the greater Atlanta and Memphis areas. Sonny grew up and worshiped in the Baptist church. His faith played an important role in his life and provided him with strength and guidance. Sonny was an avid golfer and spent many hours honing his talents. In addition to his passion for golf, he had a deep love for Alabama Crimson Tide football. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Christopher Todd Daniels. Memorial services to honor Sonny's life will be determined at a later date. Sonny will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, ad those he touched throughout his life.
