Our precious husband, father, and grandfather, Virgil Lee Norris Sr., went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2023. Visitation will be held on from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. and the service will follow at 2:00 p.m. January 9, 2023 at Family Funeral Care in Memphis, TN with Rev. Ty Danielson officiating. The interment will be at Memphis Memory Gardens, Memphis, TN.
In his 88 years of life, Virgil worked in construction and real estate. He loved Memphis Tigers football and basketball. More than anything else, he loved to tell those he encountered about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He served as an ordained deacon at some of the churches he belonged, and his membership was at Crossroads Baptist Church.
Virgil was born on January 30, 1934. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Meador Norris; children - Lisa Danielson (Kim), Lee Norris (Belinda), Lance Norris (Lori), Les Norris; grandchildren, Ty Danielson (Alex), Chad Danielson (Natalie), Candace Mooneyham (Michael), Steven Norris, Kaylee Holmes (Ethan), Lexi Norris, Graham Norris, Landon Norris; great grandchildren, Garner Danielson, Philip Danielson, Walter Mooneyham, Lawson Danielson, Hampton Mooneyham, Jonah Danielson and sister, Peggy Jennings. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Lee and Offie Lucille Norris; siblings, Frances Hall, Charles Norris, James Norris; grandson, Jordan Norris.
Pallbearers will be Lee Norris, Lance Norris, Les Norris, Kim Danielson, Chad Danielson, Michael Mooneyham, Steven Norris, Graham Norris, Landon Norris.
