Thomas Carrick Wood

Tom was born in Memphis on October 28th, 1971, and is survived by his parents, Mike and Willie Wood of Memphis, his sister, Carrie Wood (Chris Luebbe) of Ann Arbor, MI, and his brother, Charlie Wood (Jacqui Dankworth), of Edinburgh, Scotland. Tom was predeceased by his grandparents, Charles and Carrie Seay and Russell and Mary Wood, all of Memphis.

A member from birth at St John's Episcopal Church, Tom went to elementary school at Grace St Luke's, graduated from White Station High School as a Merit Scholar, and received a Bachelor's degree in English and music at the University of Memphis and an Associate Degree in computer engineering from State Technical Institute at Memphis.

Tom was exceptionally bright with a lifelong interest in music composition and performance and in the English language. His work experience included teaching English in the Memphis City Schools, manning a computer help desk and providing computer assistance to his father's life insurance practice.

Undoubtedly sui generis, he was thought of by his friends and family as a gentle soul with an infectious laugh. Tom was a loving son and brother who will be missed by his family for always.

Graveside Inurnment services are scheduled for Monday, March 13th 2023 at 2pm, at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh-
