Theodore Alfred Jenkins

Ted was born on July 2nd, 1937, to Beulah Francis and Otho Edward Jenkins in Memphis, TN. Ted graduated from Southside High school, was drafted, and served in the Army in Korea.

In the late 70’s, Ted moved his family to Memphis to own and operate the Sealtest ice cream distributorship for Memphis and the Mid-South area. After selling the distributorship, he worked over three decades for a regional ice cream manufacturer, and after that he owned and operated the Baskin Robbins store in Collierville, TN for 7 years until his retirement in 2012.

While being retired, Ted had time to pursue his love of Christian music and sing to the elderly in nursing homes and retirement communities.

His son Mark Allen Jenkins was born in 1958. In 1966, he met the love of his life Linda East, and were married in Trenton, GA. They had two children Carmen Cherie and Steven Wade.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Beulah and Otho Edward Sr, his brother O.E. “Ed”, his sisters Mary Francis, and Virginia Alice. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda, and children Mark, Cherie, and Steven, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Collierville Funeral Home, 3863 Bailey Station Road, Collierville, TN 38017, followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM
