Samuel Boldreghini Jr., age 92, of Olive Branch, Mississippi passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. Samuel was born in Memphis, TN on November 18, 1929. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Martha Anne; his grandsons, Joey and Adam Boldreghini; his sister, Marie Watts and brothers, Louis and Rudy.
He is survived by his children, Carol Anne Hastings (Richard) of Tampa, FL, Sam Boldreghini, III, (Jeanne) of Olive Branch, MS, Tina Nickl (David) of Tampa, FL, Rudy Boldreghini of Fairfield, OH; five grandchildren, Christi McAtee, David Nickl, Jr, Katie Stafford and Heather McNeill; two great grandchildren, Alyssa and Sammy.
Sam was married to the love of his life, Martha Anne, for 67 years, having met her in 8th grade. He was a cobbler by trade, the family business, with his father at Sam & Son Shoe Shop on Third St. and later with his nephew Warren Watts at Boot Heel Shoe Shop on Highland. He served proudly for 30 years in the Army Reserve, retiring as a Sergeant Major. After retiring from the shoe business, he worked for 23 years at Newton’s Trophy Center. Sam was a long time member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He sang tenor in both the Adult and Funeral Schola choirs. He was a dedicated member of St. Paul Knights of Columbus Council 5062, serving as Grand Knight twice, 1990-91, and 1996-97. Sam’s favorite pastimes included bowling, fishing and golf. He was a member of the GPC slow pitch softball team at the age of 60. His most recent pastime was working jigsaw puzzles.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 26 from 3-5 pm at Family Funeral Care 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN 38122. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Paul Catholic Church Tuesday, September 27 at 10:00am with burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery, 7500 E Holmes Rd, Memphis, TN 38125.
