Ronald L. Weir of Germantown, TN passed away on Friday January 27, 2023. He was born in Bemis, Tennessee on March 28, 1944, to Tillman Weir, Sr. and Maurine Luther Weir. He served in the United States Navy Seabees MCB 121 as a Squad Leader from March 21,1968 until July 23, 1970, and completed two tours in Vietnam. His father proudly served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
Before entering the Navy, he completed a 4-year U.S. Department of Labor Apprenticeship & Training program in the Memphis Carpenters Union. Ron retired in 2008 having worked in construction for various companies for 50 plus years in the Memphis area.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Olla F. Ray Weir; his son Ryan L. Weir of Colorado Springs, CO; his daughter Heather D’Addabbo (Michael) of Thompson’s Station, TN; stepdaughters Sandra Longworth (John) of Collierville, TN, and Sherry Salter (Scott) of Knoxville, TN; his brother Tillman Weir, Jr. (Patty) of Jackson, TN. He loved and was loved by 11 wonderful grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many other family members.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Visitation will be Monday, February 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave., Memphis, TN 38125 with the funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
