Robert Turner Carlock Jr., age 82, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. He was born January 24, 1941 in Atlanta, Georgia, to Robert Turner Carlock, Sr. and Ruth Caroline Daniels. He was a 1959 graduate of Messick High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He was an electrical contractor for over 50 years and was the founder and active President of R. T. Carlock Company. He was also a co-founding member of the Mid-South Independent Electrical Contractors. He was a longtime community board member for Cadence Bank.
Bobby had a passion and love for automobiles and motorcycles. He was an active member of Memphis Street Rods car club. He had a love for his guitar and learning new languages. He was a longtime member of Central Church. Bobby was an avid reader of war history and organized crime. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
Bobby is survived by his wife (& middle school sweetheart) of 61 years, Sandra Reid Carlock; son, Collin Carlock (Tammy); grandchildren, Reid and Chloe; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Caroline McGoldrick.
The family will receive friends at visitation on Friday, May 26 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. Funeral services celebrating his life will immediately follow at 1:00 PM, at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
