Richard G. Reid, age 69, of Collierville, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. He was born January 20, 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee to Shuyler Reid, Jr. and Phyllis Kromer Reid. He grew up in Memphis and graduated from Wooddale High School. He was the owner and President of Mid-South Conveying, Inc., a metal fabrication company for large industry. He founded the company 36 years ago. His presence filled a room and he knew how to make everybody laugh (both with him and at him). He was an avid hunter, fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially at his cabin in Des Arc, Arkansas. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
Ricky is survived by his wife of 30 years, Linda Kay Reid; children, Christian Williams, Jeremy Jennings, Hunter Reid, and Daley Reid; and grandchildren, Courtney Williams, Aaron Moss, Madison Hornbuckle, Saige Jennings, Parker Reid, Ryan Jennings, DJ Rockett, Sadie Williams, and Jacob Hornbuckle. He is also survived by his siblings, Ann Snell (Don), Chuck Reid (Cindy), and Gary Reid (Diane); and a host of nieces and nephews. Ricky was preceded in death by a son, Jason Hornbuckle and grandson, Nicholas Neil.
The family will receive friends at visitation on Saturday, January 6 from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. Graveside will occur at 2:30 PM, at Lakeside Cemetery, Des Arc, AR. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
