Reba Weldon Younger, Age 95, passed away in Arlington Heights, Illinois, January 19, 2017. Reba was born September 3, 1921, on a family farm near Dresden, Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin Junior College, worked for a time at the college as well as on a rural bookmobile, and married E.W. Younger of Fulton, Kentucky, in 1947. She and E.W. moved to Memphis shortly thereafter, and except for a two year period in the Carolinas, made their home in Memphis for 50 years. Reba was both a home maker and a long term elementary school substitute teacher in Memphis. Beyond family, interests included square dancing, participating with E.W. in Shriner events, and St. Stephen UMC. Reba’s passing was preceded by E.W.’s in 2000. Her surviving family includes: Donna Agee Younger, Cary, IL, Jim and Emily Younger, Chesterfield, MO, Meredith, Craig, James, and Kate Rodewald of Cary, IL, Mary Younger of Ballwin, MO, Rob Agee of Stevens Point, WI, and Ashley and William Chapman of St. Louis, MO. Visitation will be at 9 a.m., Friday, January 27, followed by a worship service at 10 a.m. at Memphis Funeral Home, Poplar Ave at I-240, Reverand Kim Kulow officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be directed to St. Stephen United Methodist Church, 3981 Macon Rd., Memphis, TN, 38122.
