Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Joyce Bland Turner. He is survived by his daughter Susan Turner Vaughan and son in law Chris Vaughan of Ferriday, LA; his grandsons; Jay Vaughan and Will Vaughan; and his brothers C.O. Turner III and Bill Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bob Turner, Kinsey Turner and sister Barbara Mayer.
He graduated from South Side High School and Memphis State University. He spent his working career with the Memphis Police Department. Following retirement, he worked at the Shelby County Criminal Court Clerk's office.
He was a member of Independent Presbyterian Church, Al Chymia Shrine, Unity Lodge #95
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Services will be held on Monday, July 13th at Memphis Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00pm and a funeral service to follow at 2pm. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
The service will be Live streamed via https://facebook.com/memphisfuneral/ Due to the Covid19 restrictions and anyone who is unable to attend.
