She is survived by her sister, Lisa Hays-Olson; brother-in-law, Eric Olson; two nieces, Elizabeth and Anna Olson; and nephew, John Olson. Pam was born on December 31, 1954 in Memphis daughter of William Lake Hays and Elizabeth “Busy” Hays. She attended Oakhaven High School and received Bachelor of Art degree from (then) Memphis State in Psychology and then a degree from University of Tennessee Health Science Memphis in Medical Records. Pam moved to Atlanta for several years working in Medical Sales before returning to Memphis and obtained a position at St. Jude Medical Hospital in Medical Records. This entailed following patients with various cancer diseases treated by different protocols through their lives to determine optimum treatment.
Pam was an avid Dog person who raised, trained, and showed dogs in AKC, obedience, tracking, herding, and agility. She owned and worked with Gordon Setters, Border Collies, and English Cocker Spaniels. Pam traveled throughout the country and made many friends with this activity. Pam thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephew and encouraged them throughout their education and activities.
