Neta Mae Polk, age 93, of Southaven, Mississippi passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022. Neta was born in Memphis, TN on April 17, 1929. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Amos Polk;
her parents, Annie Mae Ferguson and Charles Holland; her son, William Austin Sears and her twin boys that died at birth.
Neta was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and Trafalgar Village Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing, doing needlework and solving crossword puzzles. She worked as a seamstress, realtor and manager. Neta sold real estate for several companies in Memphis and she retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber.
She will be sorely missed by her children, Vicki Johnson and Aubrey(Cathy) Polk; her grandchildren, Mandi Johnson, Laura Fead, Kevin Sears, Carrielynn Sears-White (Wiley), Joshua (Angela) Polk, Joseph Polk, Amanda (Cody) Oliver; twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 5pm until 7pm at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. A Celebration of Neta's life will occur Friday, November 4, 2022 beginning at 10AM at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN 38122. The interment will immediately follow at Memphis Memory Gardens located at 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Rd., Memphis, TN 38134.
