Nancy Schneider Ebbing, 84, a life-long resident of the Memphis area, transitioned to her heavenly home Friday, September 2nd. Nancy graduated from Treadwell High School and was a member of Highland Heights Baptist Church. She met Ed Ebbing, the love of her life, while volunteering for the Memphis Sentimental Journey train museum. After Nancy retired from the Memphis Police Department, Nancy, Ed and Nancy’s sister Byron took many three musketeer vacations together. No cookbooks were left unpurchased along the road. Nancy was an accomplished oil painter and many of her works adorn her family’s homes. One of her most extensive art projects is a 10x16 model railroad of the Arkansas and Missouri rail line she and Ed constructed in retirement. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Edward B. Ebbing, Jr., her sisters Byron Koelz and Sherry White, as well as her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Schneider. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter and son-in-law Stephanie and Sam Russell, her niece Sherri Adkins, her nephew John White and his wife Angela White, as well as her great niece, Amber White, her great nephews Danny White, David Adkins and great-great nephew Evan Johnston. A private celebration of Nancy’s life will be held. For those who wish to make a gift in memory of Nancy, the family recommends Ave Maria Foundation’s St. Clare Health and Rehab Fund, 2805 Charles Bryan Road, Memphis, TN 38134.
