Myrtice Rebecca (Bond) Epperson, age 82, of Franklin, TN went to be with the Lord on September 20, 2024 at Charter Senior Living of Franklin. She was a long-time resident of Memphis and only recently moved to Franklin to be closer to family. The family wishes to thank the staff at Charter Senior Living for their wonderful care and love for Myrtice, and she was so happy there and making friends.
Myrtice was born September 30, 1941 in Columbus, GA, and grew up most of her childhood in Dothan, AL. She was the second of three children and preceded in death by Dexter Dellmus Bond (1914-1964) and Eloise Petterman Bond (1913-1978). Myrtice is survived by her daughter, Pamela McAdams (Kevin) of Franklin, TN (formerly of Memphis) and her beloved grandchildren William and Emily; brothers Dexter Delmus Bond and William Davis Bond.
Myrtice was a beloved dedicated mother, and grandmother. She considered Christian motherhood her greatest accomplishment, enjoyed growing in her faith, and was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church since 1992. She was in the Encouragers Life Group, care group leader, dinner club chairman, served in Vacation Bible School and mentored in the Women’s ministry. After retiring from nursing in 2005, she trained at Union University as a Parrish nurse and volunteered at the Bellevue Medical Services Department.
Myrtice loved caring for people, which led her to a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa (1966). As a gifted teacher she served on the faculty and taught at the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) and Methodist Hospital of Nursing in Memphis. Myrtice worked part-time in nursing for many years to be home with her daughter, and later worked full-time with Baptist Memorial Hospital from 1987 to 2005. In 2003 she was selected as one of the nurses of the year. Her legacy will continue with all those she mentored over the years!
