I am just finding out that this loving woman has left us. She was so kind and loved the children at BRS where I had the pleasure of meeting her. She will be missed by many, my son loved her, and I did and do still.

I’m so sorry to hear this news. I was actually trying to look her name up to see if I could locate her on facebook because my children and I were saying we wanted to say hi to her. She took care of both my daughter and son at Brownsville Road and they both loved her…so did I. She was a light In this world and I am grateful for her. My deepest condolences 😢Rest well Mrs. Hodges. 🫶🏾

We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Mrs. Hodges family. She was a phenomenal teacher aide and an incredible soul. She watched out for my children at Brownsville Road. She would always tell me, "Girl, you know I got them!" I appreciate her love and compassion for children and people. She was a gem, and I will forever treasure her memories and the gift of life that she has been to us.

My son and I knew her as Ms. Hodges during his time at Brownsville, and we are absolutely heartbroken. 

He has autism and was in the aftercare program, and when I tell you Ms. Hodges made his happiness there her work's mission while we were there, believe it. She was his rock, his EVERYTHING at that school - she was his lighthouse in the midst of a stormy sea, and day after day, she helped lead him to dry land. In her eyes, there was no one else around when my son was there - she was ALWAYS laser focused on how he was doing, and she was always there for him when he needed her.

They spent so many hours together playing board games, talking, and they even wrote a little book together about "Bill Fish". I still have that handwritten book and made copies for fear of ever losing it. She showed my son so much love and dedication during his time at Brownsville, a time where he was truly miserable in school, that she made it bearable for him to be there, and he loved her dearly for it.

We moved away several years ago, but talked about her often. In fact, we always talked about how we needed to call her and catch up, but time slipped away from us as it has a habit of doing, and I now live with the regret that we didn't stop long enough to make that call. I have no doubt it would have made not only our day, but hers, too.

RIP, dear friend. You meant so much to us. We are eternally grateful for the unbelievable kindness you showed us, and for being a bright light that shone through the dark cloud over us during that time. You made the world a better place, and we will never forget you.

I can't find the words to say as I will always remember the love and effort she put into her students especially my son. She was definitely a jewel that will be missed. I had the opportunity of knowing her as my son's educator, a coworker, and a neighbor. In all capacities, she was beautiful, outgoing, genuine, and full of LOVE& JOY. You will be missed dearly....especially when I walk the neighborhood!😢 Rest well!

My daughter attended Brownsville Rd Elementary until 2019. Ms. Hodges was always a smiling face with a beautiful soul.  She will always be remembered.
