Mary Elizabeth Sennett Sammons, passed away January 5, 2021 at the Village of Germantown. She was the daughter of Bernard A. Sennett and Neomie Arnoult Sennett. She was affectionately known as Mary E., Bobbie and GaGa.
Mary graduated from Sacred Heart and attended Miller Hawkins Business College. She was happily married to the late George W. Sammons for 60 years.
Mary was a supportive Mother and had a great love for her family, faith and community. She was one of the founding families of St Michael Church. A member of Madonna Circle, Circle Arts, Kings Daughters, Woman's Exchange and a founding member of MECA, LaSertoma and Variety Club.
Extremely stylish and beautifully groomed were some of her qualities, but kindness and strength and integrity were her best. GaGa was a wonderful cook and a loving and generous grandmother. MahJong and the beauty shop were her highlighted weekly events for most of her life, as well as daily Mass. She will be greatly missed .
She leaves her daughter, Susan Burrow, sons: George (Phyllis), Jack (Jennifer), Scott (Michele).
She leaves six grandchildren: Clark and Hughes Burrow, Arthur and Emily Sammons, and Jack Jr and Neely Sammons. And she leaves behind four great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband and son Arthur Hughes Sammons and seven sisters and one brother and son in law, John Burrow.
We wish to give special thanks to the devoted caregivers at the Village for the loving care provided to Mary Elizabeth. We will be forever grateful.
Due to the Covid virus, there will only be a private graveside service for immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St Jude Hospital, St Agnes Academy or Regional One Medical Hospital will be appreciated.
