Mary Jo (Micki) Foshee went to the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ peacefully on December 22, 2020 at her home in Bartlett, Tn. She was 86 years old. She was born on January 24, 1934 in Finger, TN to Odie and Leonard Stovall. She is survived by her daughter, Sherri Foshee of Bartlett, Tn and a son and daughter-in-law, David and Carol Foshee of Lakeland, TN, three granddaughters and their families, Jessica Ford and her husband Dr. James Ford and their children (Hayden, Lucy and Wyatt), Rachel Tushek and her husband Eric Tushek and their children (Piper and Sadie), and her youngest granddaughter Sally Foshee. Micki is also survived by two sisters Ima Jane McDurmon and Linda Gould. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Raymond Foshee, her mother and father, and her brother Billy Gene Stovall. Micki has several nieces and nephews.
Mary and Raymond married in October 1951 while he received basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Shortly thereafter he was sent to Korea and Mary returned home to live with her mom and dad and on July 15, 1952 she gave birth to her son David. Raymond returned from Korea in May 1953 and in April 1955 Micki had their second child Sherri. Micki and Raymond were active members of National Avenue Baptist Church for 20+ years. Micki shared her love of Jesus through singing in the choir and leading women’s bible studies.
During the early-mid 1960s she worked as an administrative assistant with Plough Inc. She loved to learn and very rarely turned down a new opportunity. She taught herself shorthand and mastered a complex insurance system to support hundreds of employees. When Sherri or I became frustrated with a task to the point of quitting she reminded us that “cain’t never did do anything”.
In 1967 Micki and Raymond moved the family to the Bartlett, Tn. Soon thereafter she entered the real estate business where her boundless energy and God given people skills helped her build a thriving business. She became a permanent member of the REALTOR Million Dollar Sales Team a position she held until her retirement.
In 1992 after several years as Bartlett Baptist Church members, Micki and Raymond became founding members of Faith Baptist Church. They remained active members until Micki’s health began to decline.
Micki a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister will be dearly missed.
