Martha Jane McDonald Ewing 89, died Saturday March 4, 2017. Martha was born June 23, 1927 in Atchison, Kansas. She was a graduate of Mount St. Scholastica Academy in Atchison. She was a member of the American Legion Junior Drum and Bugle Corps and performed with the band in Washington, D.C. in 1940. After graduation in 1945 she moved to Memphis to be near her sister, Grace Maes. She leaves two sons, Mark Ewing (Janet) of Greenwood, MO, Martin Ewing (Brenda) of Galloway, TN, a daughter, Sharon Luigs of Eads, TN; three grandchildren, Shelby Luigs, Kirby Luigs and Richard Ewing. Martha was married to the late Harry Rice Ewing in 1953. The family invites you to a visitation on Friday, the 10th of March from three o'clock until a memorial mass begins at four o'clock in the afternoon at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119.
