MARJORIE KELLEY VICKREY CARL, 87, of Germantown, TN, went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Judge James A. “Tick” Vickrey and is survived by her loving husband Robert D. Carl of Germantown, TN, her daughter Mona Hoover of Cordova, TN, her son Ray Vickrey (Lisa) of Middleboro, KY, her sister Frances Dean of Boone, NC; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She attended Arkansas State Teachers College and the University of Missouri. She was very active in the Methodist Church, Hayti, MO, where she was a Sunday School teacher and a youth director. She was a member of Germantown United Methodist Church. She always lived her Christian walk and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was especially close to her granddaughter, Kelly Hoover Greenway (John) who lived in Cordova, now of New York, City. One of her favorite activities was dancing, and that is where she met her husband Bob Carl. They truly had a wonderful marriage and were touched by God’s hand. She also enjoyed playing cards and was a member of Beta Signa Phi for twenty years. A memorial service will be held at The Village at Germantown at a later date.
