Margaret Ann Blumer

Margaret Ann (Wylie) Blumer was born January 11, 1948 in Memphis, TN. She passed away on April 18, 2025 at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, TN after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Margaret Ann graduated from Central High School and from the Baptist School of Nursing. While in nursing school she met a Thomas (Tom) M. Blumer from Minnesota who was in the Navy and stationed at the Millington Naval Base. Margaret Ann and Tom would later be married on June 13, 1969.

Margaret Ann worked first as a nurse at Baptist Hospital for a few years before becoming a homemaker to care for her family. She is survived by her children, Stephanie Hart (Vernon), Matt Blumer, Katie Heady (Tommy), Eric Blumer (Cortney), Rusty Tankersley; and Debbie Crum; 16 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Doug Wylie (Judy). She was preceded in death by her late husband, Thomas Blumer; parents, Raymond Fleetwood Wylie and Helen Marie Kirkpatrick Wylie; and siblings, Raymond Baxter Wylie and Katherine “Kay” Wylie Hylander.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 24 from 1:00 PM until the funeral service at 2:00 PM, at Trinity Baptist Church, Cordova, TN. Burial will immediately follow at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, Bartlett, TN. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
