Leopoldina (Lea) Mary Martinengo Smith, died August 30, 2021. She was born in Florence, Italy on September 29th, 1924 to the late Luigi and Ines Martinengo.

Lea’s family was very special to her and she was loved by all who knew her. In Lea’s almost 97 years she was an accomplished friend, mother, aunt, grandmother, and wife. Her earthly family and friends will miss her dearly but find joy and comfort that she is being reunited with her heavenly family and husband, Walter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Walter Smith, and sister, Victoria Volpi.

Survivors include her son, Tony (Sue) Smith of Collierville, TN, daughters, Vicky (Clint) Long of Franklin, TN, Shannon (Matt) Harrington of Collierville, TN, five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many close friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday September 3, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the Memphis Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00pm following the visitation. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
