June Joyce Mitchell Ingram, 83, of Memphis, died peacefully on January 29, 2012 of an apparent heart attack. She and her loving spouse of 63 years, James “Jim” C. Ingram, Jr., were charter members of Christ United Methodist Church. She worked for 30 years with Memphis City Schools including teaching first grade at Newberry and Sherwood Elementary and as a guidance counselor at Grahamwood Elementary. She had been an active member of the Alpha Delta Kappa sorority for teachers. She was preceded in death by her parents, York and Alpha Mitchell; her sister, Martha Morgan; and her son, James “Jimmy” Ingram III. In addition to her spouse, she leaves her daughter Janice Blauert (Gary) of Virginia Beach, VA, her son Jack Ingram (Laurinda) of Germantown, and five grandchildren: Beth Darrow (David), Chris Blauert (Susan), Jesse Ingram, and John and William Ingram. She also leaves three great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express their appreciation of the loving care she received from her daughter-in-law and from the exceptional staff of Job’s Way at Kirby Pines. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, February 5, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Poplar Avenue with services at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
