John Leonard Harrington, Sr. of Eads, Tn. answered God’s call home on July 17, 2014. John was born in Memphis, Tn. April 19, 1941 to Roy and Rose Liversiedge Harrington, both deceased. Also preceding him in death was his twin brother, William Roy.
Mr. Harrington was married to Alice Edwards Harrington for 54 plus years and they were the proud parents of John Jr, (Heather) of Lakeland, Tn.; Mary Williams (Paul) of Eads, Tn.; David (Dawneen) of Collierville, Tn. and Rebecca Brandon (Kevin) of Springhill, Tn. From these children were 12 grandchildren that were the joy of his life: Trey, Tyler, Jason, Amanda, Carson, Baylor, Dawson, Stephanie, Ellie, Chelsea, Emily and Gus Gran.
Mr. Harrington was retired president of Chelsea Greenhouse, Inc., and was a breeder of cattle at his HillTop Limousin Farm. He was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church, Unity Masonic Lodge, and Millington OES. As a member of the first graduating class of Kingsbury High School he enjoyed keeping up with old friends.
Mr. Harrington’s favorite past time was watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports, 4-H, and working along side his wife with the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 at Family Funeral Care with services at St. Stephen United Methodist at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 19, 2014 with a visitation at the church beginning at 1 pm until the service begins at 2 pm.
