Joan Hinds Moore

Joan Hinds Moore, 94, of Memphis, TN by way of Plainview, TX, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April, 8, 2017. She was preceded by her husband Lieutenant Colonel Warner F. Moore and her beloved son John William Moore. Joan was a loving mother and active member of the Memphis community. Her life was one of love and adventure. She was Wheat Queen as a young lady in Texas, traveled the world with her husband during his service in the U.S. Air Force, including years in Japan and Greenland. She finally settled in Memphis where she was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Town and Country Garden Club, Officers Wives' Club, Duration Club, Dur-Arts, English Speaking Union, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Beethoven Club. She leaves a son, Warner Francis Moore II, and daughter, Francys Moore Prewitt as well as four grandchildren, Ashley Moore McWaters, Robin Moore Patterson, Molly Moore Prewitt, and Julian Jones Prewitt Jr. along with five great-grandchildren. The family asks that any memorials be sent in Joan's name to the The Muscular Dystrophy Association .
