

Jeanne was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In her early life, Jeanne was a member of the Yodeling Cowgirls, an all-girl western band that her mother Angelina co-founded in the late 1930’s. The group later became a trio called The Roaming Cowgirls and then The Cowgirl Swingers. The trio made frequent radio appearances, including WLS in Chicago, and traveled throughout the world with a USO show during WWII.
Jeanne was valedictorian of her graduating class at Sacred Heart high School. Her life took a different path when Jeanne became a mother. Her main focus became her children and their happiness and well being. Along with being a homemaker she was executive secretary at her family business, Walter Palazola Produce and remained member of board until death. Later in life Mrs. Phillips resided at Greenfield Retirement Apartments where she performed with friends for the other residences. Mrs. Phillips leaves a brother Glen “Sonny” Gish and two daughters, Teresa A. Cella of Collierville, TN and Angela Cooney of Topeka, KS, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Her mother Angelina Palozola Gish Grosswiller, her father Walter Palazola, her sister Anna Rose Tyre, brother Robert J. Palazola, ex-husband Carl Phillips and daughter Carol Jean Abbott precede Mrs. Philips in death.
The family request in lieu of flowers any memorials are sent to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Hospital.
