Jannie Maurice Nix

Jannie Maurice Nix 93 passed away on March 8, 2023. Jannie loved the outdoors. She spent a lot of time gardening, camping and taking trips in her RV. Jannie was also involved in the Sams RV club that helped raise money and food for Saint Jude‘s Children’s Research Hospital and the Ronald McDonald house.

She was very active in her church and taught Sunday School for many years. Jannie was a wonderful loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was married to the love of her life Thomas for 65 years. She is survived by her daughters Deborah Stewart and Penny Faith (Rick). Jannie also leaves 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grand children. Jannie has one surviving sister, Bettye Rixie.

A visitation will be held at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave., Memphis, TN 38122 from 5 -7 PM on Tuesday, March 14. There will be a private burial at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
